ACERT Staff- Description
Alumni Relations Coordinator
You are the link between members of Campus Emergency Response Teams today and yesterday. You manage the content on the CERT Alumni Network web site, you facilitate the alumnichat@ mailing list, collect content for the Alumni section of Rumours, you maintain the CERT Alumni Network database and you assist teams in planning alumni events as needed. You are a multi-talented individual with good public relations skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
Health Promotions Coordinator
You are responsible for supporting teams and with ACERT regarding promotional activities such as CPR-a-thon. You facilitate communication between teams regarding this planning and actively market the events.
Events Liaison /Competition Liaison
You communicate with the host schools about all aspects of the Mixer Competition and NCCER, especially assisting with planning components, including ACERT specific content at both events. With their input you develop a project plan with tasks and deadlines and execute it. ACERT meetings, the competition, membership and contact lists, and information about previous events are among the issues you deal with. You are familiar with ACERT, and use ACERT as a resource in the planning and execution of the Mixer Competition and the NCCER. Previous event planning experience is an asset.
Fundraising Coordinator
The right hand of the Vice President Finance, you keep ACERT afloat. Your job requires you to lead the major fundraising efforts of ACERT's campaign for charitable donations. Your duties include looking for new sponsors, maintaining ACERT's relationships with existing sponsors and continually revisiting and modifying ACERT's sponsorship package and incentives. You are a multi-talented individual with good public relations skills, an eagerness to learn about the world of corporate sponsorship, and strong written communication skills.
French Translator
You are fluent in both official languages of Canada and preferably, your first language is French. You have familiarity with Emergency Response and its terminology in both languages and have a desire to increase ACERT's reach to francophone schools. You have access to valuable resources that will enable you to make effective and accurate translations from English to French. You will primarily work on translation of the ACERT web site, but also will translate other important ACERT documents such as the mission statement and professional code of conduct.
Marketing Coordinator
In charge of ACERT's major public relations and marketing, your job involves everything from writing to editing to layout to publishing. Using the vast resources available to you through ACERT, you keep ACERT's name and purpose well known to others, and promote Campus Emergency Response to all campuses (Colleges, Universities and High Schools) as well as to the general public.
Rumours Editor
As the Editor of the quarterly newsletter Rumours, you are responsible for recruiting submissions, securing advertising, editing content, designing layout, and the distribution of each edition. Your working knowledge of an appropriate desktop publishing program (Adobe PageMaker) and your basic knowledge of the printing industry, in addition to your creativity, will allow you to design an appealing product for our members. Your time and organizational skills are your most valuable resource as you delegate the numerous tasks required to publish each edition by the deadline.!
Team Start Up Coordinator
As the Team Start Up Coordinator you use your excellent communications and organizational skills in conjunction with the Start-A-Team Package (SATP) to assist teams attempting to start up, or recently established teams to move to the next step. Contacting schools potentially interested in starting a new team is also part of your responsibilities. Prior experience with starting a team, or as a member of a starting team is an asset.
Webmaster
You are a technology guru! As the Webmaster of the corporation, you will work to maintain ACERT's web site as well as the online discussion group. Your knowledge of web design and promotion, FTP, DNS, and advanced e-mail functions make you an ideal candidate for this position. Your advanced working knowledge of graphic design programs, such as Corel Draw/Photopaint/Adobe Illustrator/ Dreamweaver will also be an asset. Your most critical role will be to work hand-in-hand with the editor of Rumours and the Vice President of Communications in order to keep members adequately informed of the Association's progress.
