Each year two Campus Emergency Response Teams, hosts one of two ACERT affiliated Conferencess.
MIXER Competition
The Mixer Competition is intended to be a time for Campus Emergency Responders to meet early in the year and exchange ideas about their respective teams. It is both highly educational and gives practical hands-on experience for all participants.
MIXER is an event where Emergency Responders (ERs) can learn about the different aspects of competition in a informative yet fun setting while working closely with individuals from other teams. Each CERT who participates in this event will have the opportunity to learn about all components of a competition: casualty simulation artists, patients, judges, and competitors.
For this event, the word "Mixer" has a couple of different meanings. Firstly it "mixes" all components of first aid competitions as noted above. Secondly, it "mixes" people from different teams and backgrounds making the educational component that much more fulfilling... and interesting!
