Both the MIXER and the NCCER require hosts each year! There are different instructions depending on which Conferences you are interested in hosting.

There are two steps to applying to host:

  1. Fill out Intent to Apply Form
  2. Submit a Proposal Report pertaining to the Conferences you wish to apply for. Information in the Proposal Report is listed below, by Conferences.

PROPOSAL REPORT

MIXER

Your Proposal Report should address all these areas:

  • fundraising
  • budget
  • scheduling
  • logistics
  • theme
  • organization
  • resources
  • planning process
  • accomodations
  • proposed dates
  • key speakers
  • why your school should be selected

Despite needing to address all of the above in your proposal, the host team is not responsible for all of the above. Since the Mixer Competition is an ACERT sanctioned event, the components of the Mixer Comp are organized by a joint committee of host team members and ACERT staff or Board members. The general breakdown of component responsibility is therefore approximately:

HOST TEAM: ACERT: COMMON:
  • billeting
  • room bookings
  • food arrangements
  • social events
  • competition logistics
  • volunteers needed
  • overall event logistics
  • funding/budget and approvals
  • competition guidelines
  • CERT cert.
  • registration (on-line)
  • event promotion
  • awards
  • sponsorship
  • seminars/presentation setup and speakers
  • keynote speaker
  • on-site registration competition design
