Hello First Aiders! MIXER this year is in Montreal, the “Sin City” of Canada! Get pumped!

What is MIXER?

MIXER is a three day conference on November 6th, 7th, and 8th hosted by McGill First Aid Service at McGill University. The theme of the conference is "Dazed and Confused"; the seminars and the competition scenarios will all be related to the theme of altered mental status. Campus Emergency Response Teams from across the country are invited to the conference to meet, exchange ideas about their teams, attend seminars and compete in a first aid-based competition. MIXER focuses on "mixing" the components of first aid competition - casualty simulation, judging and competing - and "mixing" members of the teams during the weekend. Meeting new people is encouraged and during the competition, competitors compete with members from different teams.

Why Dazed and Confused?

The conference theme, "Dazed and Confused", is well-suited to Montreal's liberal culture, cold climate and large student population. Seminar topics and competition scenarios will involve cases and patients who appear to be "dazed and confused" - suffering from altered mental status or a decreased level of consciousness due to drugs, alcohol, or an environmental emergency.
